EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION RESTORING HOPE AND BUILDING A DREAM

Rainbow Play Systems partners with television show and homebuilder to create a neighborhood play escape and inspire New Jersey community

New Jersey, April 2006 - When one family, faced with extreme disabilities and circumstances, loses a home and a lifetime of memories, it takes a community to help build them up and give them hope. This week, Rainbow Play Systems will join forces with Century 21 builders, Edgewood Properties and design producers from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (EMHE) to restore a family’s hope and inspiration and build a community park as a tribute to all children with and without disabilities to grow, play, imagine and dream together.

“We’re in the business of building childhood memories,” says Jeff Keiss, co-owner of Rainbow Direct, New Jersey. “We’ve worked with Extreme Makeover to build Rainbow play structures and memories for families all season long, and we’re very happy to bring that same excitement to an entire community.”

As a long-standing supporter of all of the homebuilders, landscapers, and people involved in every EMHE show, Rainbow was invited to create a customized park that is sensitive to the needs of all children including those facing a lifetime of disabilities such as the Turner Family in New Jersey, whose children live with autism and paralysis. Rainbow will incorporate special features such as wheelchair ramps and bridges, picnic table learning areas, and free-standing commercial grade swing structures outfitted with special swings for handicapped children in the custom designed play area.
