The office serves as the liaison between the public and the Municipal Council, the township’s elected seven-member legislative body. The clerk functions as the secretary to the legislators and records all council meetings, minutes of which are available in the Office of the Municipal Clerk.

The office is also the registry for other official records, including ordinances, resolutions, contracts and election results. Voter registration and all elections in the township are held under the auspices of the clerk. In addition, the office licenses bingos, raffles, constables, taxicabs and filmmaking. All other licensing requirements are handled by the License Bureau, under the Department of Revenue & Finance.
