Dear Mayor Smith:

Before I had purchased 404-410 Union, I met with you and you assured me that your staff would be available to assist me with this troubled and crime-infested property. I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you, and specifically for the many hours that Mr. Thompson directly involved himself to skillfully deal with every aspect of getting the property vacated as quickly as possible so the rehabilitation of the building can begin. With the many legal obstacles and complicated issues that arose with each individual tenant, he spent hours with each of them finding an alternate place to live, by contacting landlords and and other property owners. He dealt with the miniscule issues that tenants themselves could not coordinate to get themselves moved. Mr. Thompson together with Mr. Harper spent many hours at the building under the most undesirable conditions to talk to these tenants directly to make sure they were moving out as soon as possible, not allowing the tenants to drag this on.

I would also like to mention that under the auspices of Police Director Michael Damiano, Sgt. Kenny Hogen and Sgt. Nowel relentlessly pursued the drug dealers and other dangerous armed criminals by making several dangerous raids at the property and sending them the message that Union Avenue is being given back to the people of Irvington. I hope your professional staff could continue to accomplish for the rest of Irvington what they were able to accomplish for me and turn other undesirable areas of the town into a prosperous and growing community.
