LETTERS TO THE MAYOR

Dear Mayor Smith:

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to help me get the permit I needed for the handicap ramp I so desperately had to have built. Mark Holmes was wonderful; he went the “extra mile” whenever we hit a snag. Mr. Holmes was always available, and kept a calm head when I was losing mine. This is certainly a young man of impressive quality, and a kind, caring individual. I must also commend a young lady in the permit office, Pearl Burroughs. She was the one who cared enough to help me fill out the paperwork properly and made sure the plans were given priority and didn’t get lost in the shuffle. She is bright and no nonsense and does her job well.

Mr. Mayor, I’m just a little old lady who reached out for help, and you certainly came through. Again, I thank you; my wheelchair-bound brother thanks you; and for sure, the Township of Irvington will thank you, for I know you are a hands-on leader. If anyone can, you will bring the town back.

Anne Oden

Note: Mark Holmes and Pearl Burroughs are former employees of the Township of Irvington.
