The department is responsible for managing the township’s revenues, assets, and expenditures for municipal departmental operations. The office of the Tax Collector sends out the tax bills, which are due each year on February 1, May 1, August 1 and November 1. Property owners are also responsible for a yearly sewer charge of $180 per one-family house. Enterprises wishing to conduct business with the township must first establish vendor recognition status through the department’s purchasing office. The department also regulates the required licensing of the following:
- All business establishments
- Parking lots
- Dogs and cats
- Public pay phones
- Peddlers (license required for each truck and each salesperson)
- Special permit required for parades
- Coin operated vending machines
- Kiddie carousels
- Juke boxes
- Weighing equipment/scales (in pharmacies and other stores, etc.)
- Owner/operator & self-owned devices
(ie: pool tables, pinball machines, etc.) - Washers/dryers (in apartment houses)
- Distributing or selling cosmetics, beauty and barber supplies
- Incinerators
- Family swimming pools
- Permanent pool
- Portable pools
- Swim clubs
- Newspaper vending machines
- Contractors’ licensing
- Going-out-of business sales
- Garage sales (five or more items)
- Itinerant (traveling) vendors
